Dyslexia & dysgraphia: Dallas schools, approved providers and TEFA

Dallas schools built around language-based learning differences, such as Shelton, Fairhill and The Winston School, plus schools reporting reading specialists and approved local dyslexia tutors and therapists. 35 schools and 30 approved providers in the Dallas area match.

Where this comes from. Whether a school takes TEFA comes from the Texas Education Freedom Accounts participating-school finder (Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts), which we checked on October 12, 2026. Enrollment, grades and religious affiliation come from the NCES Private School Survey (U.S. Department of Education). Neither source publishes tuition, so confirm current tuition and fees with the school directly.

What the account can pay for

Tuition at a participating learning-differences school, raised by the IEP add-on when your child has a current IEP
Structured-literacy or Orton-Gillingham tutoring from a credentialed provider
Dyslexia therapy not paid by insurance
Psychoeducational testing and other assessments

A therapy can be billed to the account only if insurance, Medicaid or another public program isn't paying for it. Tutors have to meet the Comptroller's credential rules. Everything the account covers →
